Happy New Year, MFI! We it's amazing that we're once again here so soon, the dawn of a new year... and the post-holiday times are upon us, the recovery from the financial and familial rushes that are the end of the year.
A recent string of bad luck on my end, particularly this week, has made me think about Karma lately... and how everything, in the end, balances itself out. Each day, something completely off-color has happened: Monday I lost my wallet. Tuesday, I lost my father's credit card when he gave it to me to buy something for him. Wednesday, I found the Card, but then realized that without my wallet, which contains my License and my Credit cards, leaving me with my Checks, which are now next to useless because I don't have Identification, Thursday: My computer crashed again because of a virus, although because I now use mobile storage for my important documents, it was very easy to deal with... and the finale of the week, Friday saw the day I broke my glasses. Thank goodness the week is over! I made a joke last night to a friend of mine, saying "Have I offended a God to the point where they throw curveballs each day to confound me!!?"
Aside from such disasters... This week has also seen the Iowa caucuses, which help decide the outcome of the Presidential Election. With Obama and Huckabee the winners, this race to the US White House promises NOT to dissapoint! With more Independents and Moderates of each Party than in recent history, this particular Election will be one that will be a tight race until the VERY end.
2008 will bring MFI a LOT of new things! As many of our new toys on the web are still semi-classified by CompOps for developmental purposes, the roll-out is very near, and I think the membership will be pleasantly suprised with what's up and coming... the Academy is booming, Operations and MSA are busy as bees with their projects; and I've been in contact with the VIC on a new department for MFI that will soon come to the open as soon as her group finishes the final proposal. Things are seldom businer here at HQ!
