RAdm Parker: Colonel Brian Pickett, Director, Maquis Forces Special Security Division, takes pleasure in presenting the Special Security Division Achievement Medal to Force Admiral (Retired) Gary Davis and Major General Marc Easterly for services set forth in the following citation: For aid and assistance towards the new SSD Director in the execution of his duties. Their expertise and unwavering commitment towards the Division rebuilding enabled Col Pickett to successfully revive the SSD and fulfill its duties. **Write Up: No Nominations received.
+
RAdm Parker: MajGen Marc Easterly, has been an instrumental part of the rebuilding and maintenance of the Maquis Forces Marine Corp. He has remained dedicated to his job through periods of popularity with the MFMC and through droughts of interest as fandom in general waned. MajGen Easterly’s leadership inspires those beneath him to creativity and initiative, traits that he himself possesses in abundance. He constantly seeks out new personnel, not only to draw into MFI in general, but to positions within the MFMC command structure, and the Corp is stronger for it. Therefore it is with great pleasure that Major General Marc Easterly is being promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General, with all ensuing responsibilities and privileges that go with it.

*Volunteer of The Year:
+
RAdm Parker: From the moment that Colonel Brian Pickett took over as Director of Special Security Division, he has been off and running. He has taken a branch that had slowly moved onto the back burners of MFI and breathed new life into it, essentially rebuilding it from the ground up. He has spent countless hours reworking the Division’s wiki pages and has taken up the duties of the Division, both real and Role Play, with great enthusiasm. Therefore it is with great pleasure that Colonel Brian Pickett is being promoted to the rank of Force Colonel, with all ensuing responsibilities and privileges that go with it.

Nomination
+
RAdm Parker: FCol Breland is a member that is all over the place. He is the foundation that without, many events and improvements could not occur. He continually combs through the Wiki making corrections where needed, and adding in suggestions to further enhance the overall impact. The Esprit de Corps he radiates encourages others to participate. His work with the SSD College and with the upcoming LDO further highlights his dedication to this organization. Therefore it is with great pleasure that Force Colonel David Breland is being promoted to the rank of Brigadier General, with all ensuing responsibilities and privileges that go with it.

The ICV Heghnach has been an active commissioned chapter in Maquis Forces International for 10 years. During that time, we have received numerous awards.
+
RAdm Parker returns to his seat, and FAdm Doane moves back behind the podium.
+
FAdm Doane: I have one more promotion. RAdm Frank Parker Front and Center!
We have been active in doing Community Service and Charity Work putting in up to 300 combined hours per year. Our projects have included the Liver Life Walk for the American Liver Foundation, Adopt-A-Highway, Pittsburgh Race for the Cure, Putt for the Cure, Walk for a Healthy Community, Lee National Denim Day, Scouting for Food, the Pittsburgh Irish Festival, Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, the Pittsburgh Toy Show, and the Pittsburgh ComicCon. We have coordinated with a few ships in Zone 3 to do Intraship activities.
+
RAdm Parker gets out of his seat and stands in front and slightly to the side of the podium. He salutes her, she returns the salute and the salutes are dropped.

+
FAdm Doane: Rear Admiral Frank Parker is a rare gem, even among the flag ranks of MFI. At the beginning of my tenure as IC, he was personally responsible for several new chapters joining MFI as well as easing them into our family as Dean of the Leadership College. His efforts have resulted in great relationship with joint SFI/MFI chapters. As if this weren’t enough, it was through RAdm Parker’s efforts that MFI was a very visible portion of Starfleet International’s 2001 Region 1 Summit. He attended not as his SFI rank of Captain but as MFI’s Vice International Coordinator and a Rear Admiral. In additional to all that, his work with Farragut Films and Ferret Films on various fan made films have further increased awareness of this organization. Therefore it is with great pride and supreme pleasure that Rear Admiral Frank Parker is being promoted to the rank of Vice Admiral, with all ensuing responsibilities and privileges that go with it.
In addition to our monthly meetings, we usually have a social gathering or event to keep busy. We are a “can-do” ship that volunteers wherever and whenever needed. We have undergone many new and wonderful changes in order to increase our membership, retain our membership, and encourage our membership to recruit new members. We were reluctant to change at first, but upon discussion and majority vote, we adopted the changes and are so glad that we did.
+
FAdm Doane steps out from behind the podium and up to RAdm Parker. She removes the RAdm pips and replaces them with the VAdm pips. She hands him his promotion certificate and shakes his hand. She steps back and salutes him, he return the salute and the salutes are dropped.
<Insert any other speeches or announcements here as well from recipients

At every convention we go to, we ask about volunteering to serve on staff and usually do serve. We strive to promote leadership and encourage each member to take an active part in the organization as soon as possible.
+
I now turn the floor over to Force Captain Pam Michaud, Chief of the MFI Awards Department.
+
Force Captain Pam Michaud comes to the podium, salutes and is saluted before taking the podium after the IC moves aside.
All of the senior officers are active in participating in events and volunteer activities.
+
Force Captain Pam Michaud: It is my pleasure to announce the MFI End of Year winners for 2012 Rebel, Volunteer and Chapter of the year. First MFI Rebel of the Year is awarded to Brigadier General David Breland. Please come forward.

+
Brig. General Breland moves from the audience and ascend the stairs to stand in front of Force Captain Michaud. He salutes her, she returns the salute and the salutes are dropped.

+
Force Captain Michaud: David Breland has shown initiative in not only being involved with MFI (the organization's) activities, offering an Espirit de Corps for rallying others to also participate, but in finding areas where updates are needed to the MFI site (specifically in the SSD Branch) as well as helping to create new materials and organize activities to continue to revive this arm of the organization. Even now, David is organizing a new role-playing event around the time of Memorial Day weekend (akin to MFI's current LDO rp events) primarily to help launch the new SSD; and he is also working on potential exams for the college of Law. This ‘get it done’ spirit is well in keeping with this awards well done Brig. General Breland.

Respectfully Submitted,

Force Captain Michaud: Jason Emery continues to show what it means to be an honorable, caring member of humanity, promoting the best example of what it means to be a member of MFI for his local community. Twice, Jason has been noted in community outreach organizations for his donations of goods, time and service throughout each month of the year of 2012. His constant and varied support illustrates the true definition of ‘volunteer’. Well done.
Rebel of the Year: Nomination 1:
+
Force Captain Michaud: I now give the floor to Force Captain Joshua Laury, Chief of MFI Operations.
I would like to recommend Colonel Kuruk tai-Reshtarc (George Edwards) as Rebel of the Year. Since March 2011, George has been my right-hand man as Helm /Personnel Officer of the ICV Heghnach. He has been invaluable to me making sure that the ship and crew shine as a chapter of the zone.
+
The Awards Chief moves aside and the Chief of Operations for MFI steps forward:

+
FCaptain Laury: Please note awarding of the Naval Campaign Ribbon for 2012 will occur as soon as a complete list of participants is received by this office for the various events of the past year, awarding of Naval Campaign Ribbons can occur at any time. Now it is my pleasure to announce the following persons are being awarded the MFI Naval Achievement Medal for their work in representing MFI and their Branch in charity and outreach efforts. Each of them, have made efforts to offer food, clothing, hygiene and medical products, service of sorting/preparing/cooking at food banks, offering computer (IT) service to community centers and members in the region, as well as manning tables and booths for Toys 4 Tots, Amnesty International, and the no-kill Everett Animal Shelter.

Kuruk has set some fairly high goals for the chapter to meet and suggested many changes to the chapter as a whole. At first, I was reluctant to make such changes, but George was able to make a strong case for the changes to benefit the chapter for the betterment of all, so I approved them and so did the chapter.
+

+
We are like two sides of the same coin. When I first got elected as Chapter Commanding Officer, I wanted to rule the chapter with logic and an iron fist. Colonel Kuruk taught me to be more flexible and fun stating that it would be more acceptable to the crew. I look at decisions from a logical standpoint and he looks at them from a practical standpoint. We balance each other out and he provides me with good counsel, especially when I am faced with a difficult decision. He also helps keep me focused on the task at hand. He helps me combine with fun while still managing to get things done in a timely manner.
+

+
He has been put in charge of all personnel matters to include disputes, discipline problems, and duty related matters. He takes care of any problems before I hear about them. If he cannot solve the problem, he makes sure that he consults me either before or simultaneously with the member with the problem and we solve it together.

I would like to recommend myself, General K’moghjIH zantai-Ki’RK as Volunteer of the Year. Most people that know me, knows that I am all about volunteering. I promote volunteering all the time with my chapter. The chapter volunteers up to 100-300 hours per year. Out of that, I volunteer 50-100 hours per year. Some of the volunteer projects that I participate in are the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Pittsburgh Race For The Cure Site Restoration Committee Co-chair, Putt For The Cure volunteer, Walk For a Healthy Community Volunteer, Lee National Denim Day volunteer, Liver Life Walk for the American Liver Foundation Planning Committee Volunteer Training Chair and Walk Participant, Adopt-A-Highway Project Leader, Pittsburgh Irish Festival Merchandise Sales volunteer, Masonic Child Identification Program Volunteer, Scouting for Food volunteer, Saint Patrick’s Day Parade volunteer, the Pittsburgh Toy Show volunteer, the Pittsburgh ComicCon volunteer, as well as webmaster for several different organizations. ===MFI Rebel Of The Year===
+
*'''Nominees''':
+

+
Admiral Steven Lackey Nominated for Rebel of the Year for Zone 1 for his activities and extensive participation in the Sim Department and Sim Fleet.

+
I would like to recommend Colonel Kuruk tai-Reshtarc (George Edwards) as Rebel of the Year. Since March 2011, George has been my right-hand man as Helm /Personnel Officer of the ICV Heghnach. He has been invaluable to me making sure that the ship and crew shine as a chapter of the zone.
+

+

David Breland has shown initiative in not only being involved with MFI

updates are needed to the MFI site (specifically in the SSD Branch) as

I was just informed that Belinda Shultz, of the MFS Furtivis Anas
+
(MFI-RC-183337), has volunteered 75 hours this month to her local
+
community through the holidays. You can gain more information and
+
details from herself (See Col. Pickett for her contact email), her roommate John Bray
+
(See Col. Pickett for his contact email), or her captain, Louis Lamp
+
(See Col. Pickett for his contact email), as needed. But I thought you would like to be
+
made aware of this.
+
I understand now. Belinda Shultz (MFI-RM-1023) worked for various
+
missions and food banks in the area of Portland (and Tiguard) Oregon,
+
sorting food-items, prepping and cooking meals, and serving to over
+
3,000 of the homeless and impoverished community over both

Volunteer of the Year Nomination
+
+
I strive to keep the motivation to volunteer up in my chapter and lead by example by setting the standard for volunteering as much as I can and try to get other members to volunteer with me.

2012 End Of Year Awards

Presented/Effective:Immediately upon notice

RAdm Frank Parker ascends the stage and comes to attention
RAdm Parker: Maquis! Attention!
The entire room rises and comes to attention
Bosuns whistle sounds
Computer: Maquis Forces International, arriving.
FAdm Christina Doane ascends the stage and moves to stand at the podium.
RAdm Parker: Maquis! At ease!
Audience sits back down in their seats. RAdm Parker takes a seat on the stage.

FAdm Christina Doane: It is my pleasure to open the Awards Ceremony for those Maquis who have excelled in 2012. We are trying something both new and old this year a simulation ceremony but not live to allow for everyone to comment and add when they are able. I want to say in advance congratulations to everyone who has worked so hard for MFI in all her sections. Well Done!

FAdm Doane moves to an open area on the stage near the steps. RAdm Parker stands and takes his place behind the podium.
RAdm Parker: FCapt Joshua Laury, Col Brian Mullins! Front and Center!
FCapt Laury and Col Mullins move from the audience and ascend the stairs to stand in front of FAdm Doane. They salute her, she returns the salute and the salutes are dropped.

Force Admiral Christina Doane: I take great pleasure in presenting the MFI Commendation Medal to Force Captain Joshua Laury and Colonel Brian Mullins for services set forth in the following citation: For aid and assistance towards Captain Brian Pickett in executing the duties of his office as Zone Coordinator 9. Their extensive knowledge of MFI processes and organization, from the MFI Academy, to the Wiki format structure, to the Zone’s and International’s role in chapter affairs, gave not just Zone 9’s Coordinator the ability to fully execute his duties but others as well. Their dedication and devotion to duty reflect highly upon themselves and upon MFI.

FAdm Doane pins the medals on each recipient, hands them their award and shakes their hands. She steps back and salutes them, they return the salute and the salutes are dropped. FCapt Laury and Col Mullins return to their seats.
RAdm Parker: FAdm (retired) Gary Davis, MajGen Marc Easterly! Front and Center!
FAdm-R Davis and MajGen Easterly move from the audience and ascend the stairs to stand in front of FAdm Doane. They salute her, she returns the salute and the salutes are dropped.

Their selflessness and dedication reflect great honor upon themselves, the Special Security Division and Maquis Forces International. In addition for Major General Easterly his work with the SSD in the MFI Sim Department. Awarded this date <insert date>. Signed, Col Brian Pickett, Director, Special Security Division, Maquis Forces International.

FAdm Doane pins the medals on each recipient, hands them their award and shakes their hands. She steps back and salutes them, they return the salute and the salutes are dropped.
RAdm Parker: MajGen Easterly, please remain.
FAdm-R Davis returns to his seat.

FAdm Doane removes the MajGen pips and replaces them with the LtGen pips. She hands him his promotion certificate and shakes his hand. She steps back and salutes him, he return the salute and the salutes are dropped. LtGen Easterly returns to his seat.
RAdm Parker: Col Brian Pickett! Front and Center!
Col Pickett moves from the audience and ascends the stairs to stand in front of FAdm Doane. He salutes her, she returns the salute and the salutes are dropped.

FAdm Doane removes the Col pips and replaces them with the FCol pips. She hands him his promotion certificate and shakes his hand. She steps back and salutes him, he return the salute and the salutes are dropped. FCol Pickett returns to his seat.
RAdm Parker: FCol David Breland! Front and Center!
FCol Breland moves from the audience and ascends the stairs to stand in front of FAdm Doane. He salutes her, she returns the salute and the salutes are dropped.

FAdm Doane removes the FCol pips and replaces them with the BGen pips. She hands him his promotion certificate and shakes his hand. She steps back and salutes him, he return the salute and the salutes are dropped. BGen Pickett returns to his seat. RAdm Parker returns to his seat, and FAdm Doane moves back behind the podium.
FAdm Doane: I have one more promotion. RAdm Frank Parker Front and Center!
RAdm Parker gets out of his seat and stands in front and slightly to the side of the podium. He salutes her, she returns the salute and the salutes are dropped.

Force Captain Pam Michaud: It is my pleasure to announce the MFI End of Year winners for 2012 Rebel, Volunteer and Chapter of the year. First MFI Rebel of the Year is awarded to Brigadier General David Breland. Please come forward.
Brig. General Breland moves from the audience and ascend the stairs to stand in front of Force Captain Michaud. He salutes her, she returns the salute and the salutes are dropped.

Force Captain Michuad gives Brig. General Breland his award and shakes his hand. She steps back and salutes him, he returns the salute and the salute is dropped. Brig. General Breland returns to his position.

Force Captain Michuad: Next up is MFI Volunteer of the Year for 2012. The awardee is: Lt. Jg Jason Emery. Please step forward.
Lt. Jg Jason Emery moves from the audience and ascend the stairs to stand in front of Force Captain Michaud. He salutes her, she returns the salute and the salutes are dropped.

Twice, Jason has been noted in community outreach organizations for his donations of goods, time and service throughout each month of the year of 2012. His constant and varied support illustrates the true definition of ‘volunteer’. Well done.
