== Drug Sources ==
<div align="left"><font size="3">

All of the drugs on the market today come from One of Four sources:
Plants, Animal, Mineral, or Synthetic.

An example of Plant based drugs is atropine, morphine and digitalis. Morphine is an Opium dirivitive manufactured by the processing of Poppy plants.

An example of Animal based drugs is Insulin and glucagon. Terran animals (of ALL kinds) produce Insulin to metabolize sugars in order to produce energy.

Examples of Mineral based drugs are Calcium Chloride, Sodium Bicarbonate and Potasium Chloride. The body needs minerals to build strong bones, to help the heart contract properly and keep the body working at a proper Acid / Base balance.

Examples of a Synthetic drug is Lidocaine and procainamide. Lidocaine is a man made drug used to block pain impulses in localized areas of the body.

Example--ethyl-1-methyl-4-phenylisonipectotate hydrochloride

2. Generic name : Usually an abbreviated version of the chemical name

3. Trade name : Given to the drug by each manufacturer
Example--Demerol Hydrochloride¨

4. Official name : Listing in the United States Pharmacopeia (USP)
Example--meperidine hydrochloride, U.S.P.
