Medical Evacuation Squadron
DUST OFF

The Medical Evacuation Squadron is responsible for getting wounded marines out of hot spots and back to medical facilities were they can be patched up, or return to the Griffon. The MES uses 10 medical Runabouts to do its job. Usually two Runabouts are assigned to a company and two are held in reserve. The MES is under command of the Battalion Chief Medical Officer. The MES personal are an extension of the Griffon's medical staff. When the 1MOAB and the MFS Griffon respond to distress calls it is the MES responsibility to respond to evacuations and search and rescue operations of both military and civilian personal. The MES is housed on the Griffon but will have medical runabouts on the ground housed at the Fire base to use a s quick response for marines on the ground.

Combat Medic

The combat Medic is a mix between a ships medical technician and a marine. The Combat Medics job is to leave the runabout go into the battle and fight there way to the wounded marine and get them out of there. Since most of the enemies of the Maquis tend to target medical personal, the Combat Medic is heavily armed and well trained in various forms of combat operations. The Combat Medics if needed can set up defensive positions around the casualties and hold off enemy forces until friendly units can evacuate them.

Search and Rescue Teams

Search and Rescue Teams are used to handle evacuation or rescue operations that involve civilian personal. These operations can be anything from assisting planet evacuations or simply rescuing a crew from a damaged vessel. Since Search and Rescue Teams tend to deal with civilians, SAR teams are not armed. If there is indication of danger from a hostile force, the Search and Rescue teams would be accompanied by Combat Medics who would provide protection for the SAR teams to do their jobs.
