Excerpt from a Communication between VAdm 10of9 and FCol McBain
McBain: McBain here Admiral.
VAdm 10of9: Force Colonel, what is the status of your unit?
McBain: Sir, to be quite honest things are not going well. They hit before we were fully prepared, our defensive works were unfinished and fell quickly to a determined enemy. Do Lung bridge fell to the Cardassians yesterday afternoon and the Spoonheads have been pouring over the river all night.. We had to fall back over 100km and re-group. Our artillery was taken out this morning. Cardassian artillery positions along the Acknar highway have been pounding our positions for over 16 hours with devastating effect sir. 2 companies of our armor were lost early this morning trying to flank the defenders at Do Lung bridge.
VAdm 10of9: McBain, do you require assistance?
McBain: Sir, I could definitely use help at Nivoch, we are outnumbered 3-1. I have lost 2 commands entirely, and am losing ground to the Cardassian Mekks; I could use the close air support. Infantry and Armor are doing better than expected but, it's not going to be enough to keep us on this rock. Sir, I need help soon or, I expect to be overrun by tomorrow evening.
VAdm 10of9: We can be there in nine hours, can you hold?
McBain: Sir, if we have to throw spitballs, we'll hold. There is a naval blockade that has driven Impetuous out of the system.
I need someone to take out Do Lung Bridge, and the arty positions along the Acknar highway.
VAdm 10of9: Send what information you have and we'll see what can be done when we arrive. 10of9 out.
