Liam Collins was born aboard a mining processor satellite in Alpha Centaurian orbit. His parents were independant mineral brokers, who quickly went to the Chin'Toka system following the mining fleets. Collins passed his Starfleet Academy entrance exams and was admitted to the Academy. He trained at Saganaki Island, the SFMC main depot, and quickly was labeld a 'troublemaker.' With a belligerant and anti-authoritian mindset, he quickly rubbed superiors the wrong way.
With his parents disappearing in the bloodbath following Federation pullouts, he was one of the first Maquis, quickly organizing a specialized commando cell whose main function was infiltrating Starfleet facilities and seizing supplies
With FADM Gary Davis re-aliging the fledgling MFI Fleet into a fighting force, Collins' unit quickly became a cornerstone unit for General Doane, the Maquis Marine Commndant.
With Doane joining the Maquis Coordinator Council, Collins was selected as Commandant, MFMC.
