MFS Darknight NCC-56501

History of MFS Dark Night NCC-56501 The darknight was built at the fleet yard at San Francisco, Earth. Very shortly after the commissioning of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-A (Constitution class, launched in 2286 under the command of James T. Kirk) the ship she was called upon to patrol on the Federation/Klingon border. For almost 7 years the ship served the Federation until she was deemed excess to the fleet and placed in "the mothball fleet" (some time after the Khitomer Accords in 2293). She was more or less left there for almost 72 years (2365). Prior to the Dominion war, the� Marquis’ Movement� learned of this nearly forgotten “mothball fleet� in the Ceti Alpha area. Capt Thomas King, formerly commanding officer of the USS Warrior, NCC-89871, and Marine LTC Russ Garrison of VMA-214, both now officers in the Maqui, learned of this facility and saw an opportunity they could not let slip away. They saw one chance in a million to even the odds in the favor of the colonist, that the Federation shamefully abandoned and the Cardassian Union heavily terrorized. The plan was to take several commercial salvage tugs to this mothball yard and “liberate� a few ships under the guise of scrapping them for parts under Federation order. This plan worked better than anyone could have imagined. A total of 7 ships were towed out. Before the forged orders reached higher headquarters, Maqui crews were on those ships with new dilithium crystals and the ships were long gone. The following is a list of ship classes “liberated’:

• 1 Federation Class Dreadnought
  
• 2 Star league Class Dreadnoughts
  
• 4 Enterprise Class Heavy Cruisers
  

An intercepted Federation communication noted that several Depots had reported a fleet maintenance/quality control team had visited these depots. All types of equipment and replacement systems were subsequently reported missing, to include the gel pack type of systems used on the USS Voyager NCC-74656. • In the book, Star Trek Dreadnought, by Diane Carey, the Dreadnought Class ship was built under the direction of Vice Admiral Rittenhouse to accomplish a military coup of the Federation. However the Star Empire MKC 2331 was commandeered prior to its maiden voyage. Due to the efforts of the commandeering crew and the Enterprise, ADM Rittenhouse was stopped before such a coup could take place.
