The Pergrine fighter is a fast, low mass, well suited craft for high speed runs through the obstacles which make up the race courses.
Primarily a Tactical Fighter, the Peregrine has proven iteself to be a useful and versatile craft used for a variety of purposes. The special "stock" Peregrine has had its weapons and devensive systems removed to make it sleeker and apt for racing at high speeds. Suited for both atmospheric and space flight, the "Blackbird" is flown by the squadron's "ace" with three backup pilots serving as advisors and ground crew. The co-pilot is an experienced navigator serving to plot the courses and feed the pilot with a constant and updated flight path. This tandem effort makes the Blackbird a formidable opponent in racing as the Peregine is in combat.

Antarian Trans-Stellar Rally Course

The Antarian Trans-Stellar Rally is a race held in the Delta Quadrant to commemorate a treaty signed by four factions who claimed the same area of territory. It was first held in 2377. Hosted by the Antarians, the race includes vessels from the four factions which include the Aksani and the Chessu. Other species are free to enter the race upon permission. An example of this includes the USS Voyager representing the United Federation of Planets. The 2377 race was coordinated by an Antarian Ambassador named O'Zaal. Requirements for the race include having a pilot and co-pilot. Additionally, vessels are limited to sub-light speeds and must use enriched deuterium fuel. The race course is over 3.2 billion kilometers long, divided into 3 segments based on spatial objects. The course also features obstacles such as K class anomalies and dwarf star clusters. The major obstacle on the course makes up most of the third segment: a wormhole named the Möbius Inversion, which is a level 6 subspace anomaly.
