With the Maquis spy network growing within the headquarters of Starfleet Command, plans for a new class of Runabout were transmitted to Terko Nor, the Maquis' HQ in the Badlands. This experimental class is everything the current Danube Class ships are plus much more. The sleeker, state of the art design borrow elements from the lastest shuttlecraft, Delta Flyer prototype, and traditional Runabouts.

Although only one of this craft exists, MFS Athena is undergoing test and shakedowns so that another fleet of multipurpose craft can be developed for the Maquis.

This prototpe is classified as an Interceptor as will be the next two of her class. Later classes will incorporate, like her sister Runabout Fleet, specific task oriented eqipment to support missions for the Maquis.

Arrow Class Runabouts utilize the same "modular" construction in regard to interior makeup. They are capatible with standard Starfleet multi-use compartment modules and are much easier than even the conventional Runabouts being that the warp engines and wings feature a "gull" design which swing open for easy access to the interior.

The compartment modules fit neatly inside and lock into place for optimum refit capability. The Arrow class is slightly longer than the standard Danube. This affords a somewhat roomier cockpit area, more workstations, and a larger crew complement.
