This is a Miranda Class Cruiser retrofitted in the Badlands. Deck 6 and 7 have been virtuallly gutted to make way for a much more expansive shuttle bay. This allows the Carrier to ferry a variety of smaller craft providing both protection within her hull for transport, as well as providing orbital cover while making landing operations.
MFS Michael Eddiington and her two sister ships, MFS Independence, and MFS Shakaar are capable of carrying twenty-one Tatcical Fighters, as well as two standard Type 6, and two advanced Type 11 Shuttlecraft.
Her compliment of Tactical Fighters are used in a variety of missions and ferried to their deployment points by MFS Micheal Eddington. This allows them to serve as an effective short range strike force against planetary and space based targets. Since these craft are warp capable, they can also be effective against long range targets after deployment. This increases their range of effectiveness and with their mothership safe in reserve, can return to refueal and rearm.
