Greetings from the Maquis Academy College Of Medicine (MACOM for short). MACOM has always been one of the Academy's founding colleges, offering both educational and entertaining information to our membership. Although I have always attempted to keep my courses current (especially the Cardiology exam), it has been difficult to add additional exams to a very limited aspect of Star Trek fandom. For a long time, MACOM consisted of 4 basic exams, the newest exam being the Aerospace Medicine exam.

With the reconstruction of the Academy underway, I have taken this time to re-work my Medical Library Resource pages and totally revamp most of my exams. When the Academy reopens, MACOM will have a total of 9 courses for the membership. Antonia Matthews has donated a Klingon Anatomy course, the Ship's Counselor exam is moving from the Liberal Arts College back to MACOM and I have added Medical Terminology and Medical Equipment exams.

In addition to the new exams, in order to fit the criteria for certifications, the "General Practitioner" exam has been renamed "Basic Medicine" and new questions have been added. The Cardiology, Counselor, Pharmacology and Alien Med exams have all been expanded have at least 20 questions each. Many of the exams will now have "Rotating" (random) questions, so if you take an exam 5 times, you MIGHT take 5 different versions of the same exam! Interesting??

Along with creating new exams and revamping of the current exams, all the Colleges are putting together some new Certification Programs. MACOM's certifications will include "Basic Medic", "Jr. Medical Officer", "Sr. Medical Officer" and "Flight Surgeon". Watch for more information on these in the near future.

For those of you who have already taken MACOM's exams and received ribbons, Y'all come on back and try the Updated versions, as well as the NEW exams!!

In Service to MACOM,
