One Laptop Per Child

While we're still gearing the Academy for production, I thought I'd bring you another education related story. The $100 laptop program also known as the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) which is a program designed to provide inexpensive laptops to least developed countries.

Some of the hurdles this project has to overcome is the lack of infastructure in these countries. Such as how do we allow children to communicate and share with other children where there is no existing internet connections, or sometimes even power. There are all problems that need to be overcome by the project.

For those wondering, there are no current plans to sell these retail, they will only be provided on a general basis to governments and schools. They will be assigned to individual children.
