MFI was approched earlier this year by the Sales Manager for the Executive West Hotel in Louisville, KY about possibly holding an event. MFI has never undertaken such an endeavor, so at first we treated this offer incredulously. However, after going to visit the resort last month, looking over their facilities, crunching some numbers, it does look as if something of this nature COULD be done by members of MFI. Below you wil find the initial material that FADM (Ret) Gary Davis and FADM Rob Johnson have been mulling over. It is presented to a select few until such time as we work out as many bugs as possible and disseminate for planning and implementation.

What we are thinking of is roughly a convention in the March or early April 2007 timeframe. [UPDATE: planned date has been pushed back for further development] This woudld give us plenty of time to plan, gauge responses within MFI as well as with other clubs/organizations in the area, line up vendors, as well as meet schedules for everyone concerned including the guest stars themselves.

Admission entitles entry to all functions, ceremonies, guest star appearances, and autograph sessions to be negotiated with the individual guest stars. Autographs will be by ticket number and will go by order of ticket sale.

Preferred Seating Upgrade limited to first 50 sold; available Friday and Saturday during registration. First two rows will be reserved and assigned by ticket number in order of ticket sold/paid for. Upgrades will also be first in line for autographs.

Banquet Dinner will be by special ticket presenters only. Tickets available Friday and Saturday during registration.

Bowling with the stars will take place Saturday night at the alley across the street. We will have six lanes available for two hours. Price includes all the bowling we can do in 2 hrs and shoe rental. We will form 12 teams with our two guest stars alternating frames with each team. Tickets available for this function Friday and Saturday during registration.
