RIBBON CONSTRUCTION

User:Awards/Directory

This section is to assist the member in creating their own ribbons. All MFI Ribbons are constructed off of a base ribbons and modified with graphic tape of various colors, usually black. Three seperate widths are used: 1/8", 1/4", and 1/2".

You can view the ribbon bases on the below pages:

Sort by Order of Precedence
Sort by Ribbon Base

Work is currently ongoing to construct templates that will allow you to lay your ribbon on to know exactly where to place the graphic tape.

You can also order your ribbons directly from the Quartermaster

The stars used to denote subsequent awards are 3/8" stars available through the same method as the ribbons. You should be able to find the single and double silver knots as well as any letters and numerals. Most military surplus stores will carry these or be able to order them.
