[edit] General Overview

The Scorpion class fighter was first deployed during the Dominion War as part of the Romulan military's effort to make its force a better balanced. Given the obvious weaknesses of the massive D'deridex warbird the Scorpion was designed as a support vessel to cover some of these zones. Small and maneuvrable, a large number of these two seat warp capable ships could be carried in the shuttle bays of Warbirds and launched to provide support for the larger warships. Scorpions are armed with a single "Capital Grade" focussed beam disruptor array. Singularly, these ships offer little threat to a Capitol Ship, but in numbers, they have the firepower to seriously threaten large starships.
