I should introduce myself, I'm Capt. Tom King, CO of the new listening post 649 in the Tri-City area of Washington State. The chapter is code named Dark Night (can be remaned for a modest fee, call me. {''USS Walmart'' will cost a lot!}). The XO is LCol. Russ Garrison, who is also the XO of the SFI chapter USS Rubicon and the DOIC of region 5, SFI Marines (can you say over achiever?). The original intent was to create a spec opts branch for infiltration and espionage, a Spies-R-Us one stop shop. What may evolve from this begining only tomorrow will tell.<br>

From the portrayal of Maqui forces on the series Voyager, you would come away with the impression that the Maqui are perhaps modern day Minute Men, militia drawn together of neccessity or perhaps Mujahideen defending against a cruel invader. A serious as the struggle against Cardassian opression may be, I prefer a more carefree image. The analogy that comes to mind is Pirate-like scoundrels who harry and plague the Cardassian, a thorn in the side of federation and empire alike. ARRRRR mateys....

The darknight was built at the fleet yard at San Francisco, Earth. Very shortly after the commissioning of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-A (Constitution class, launched in 2286 under the command of James T. Kirk) the ship she was called upon to patrol on the Federation/Klingon border. For almost 7 years the ship served the Federation until she was deemed excess to the fleet and placed in "the mothball fleet" (some time after the Khitomer Accords in 2293). She was more or less left there for almost 72 years (2365).

Before the forged orders reached higher headquarters, Maqui crews were on those ships with new dilithium crystals and the ships were long gone.

An intercepted Federation communication noted that several Depots had reported a fleet maintenance/quality control team had visited these depots. All types of equipment and replacement systems were subsequently reported missing, to include the gel pack type of systems used on the USS Voyager NCC-74656. There was no real explanation for the loss.

• In the book, Star Trek Dreadnought, by Diane Carey, the Dreadnought Class ship was built under the direction of Vice Admiral Rittenhouse to accomplish a military coup of the Federation. However the Star Empire MKC 2331 was commandeered prior to its maiden voyage. Due to the efforts of the commandeering crew and the Enterprise, ADM Rittenhouse was stopped before such a coup could take place. The Dreadnought Class, Star Empire, was immediately consigned to oblivion. It is this ship that we claim as the Maqui Ship, Dark Night. Tom

History of MFS Dark Night NCC-56501 The darknight was built at the fleet yard at San Francisco, Earth. Very shortly after the commissioning of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-A (Constitution class, launched in 2286 under the command of James T. Kirk) the ship she was called upon to patrol on the Federation/Klingon border.
