Description:
The following is a list of rank progression based on time in service to the Chapter and MFI. Special Considerations will be made for those who have made extra contributions to the club.
Commissioned Rank (Naval/Marine)
Ensign/ Second Lieutenant- 1 month
Lieutenant Junior Grade/ First Lieutenant- 2 months
Lieutenant/ Marine Captain- 4 months
Lieutenant Commander/ Major- 8 months
Commander/ Lieutenant Colonel- 16 months
Captain/ Colonel- 32 months
(promotion to any rank above Captain/Colonel is the domain of the Command Council of MFI)
Cadet ranks: (these are handled differently, as these are reserved for members ages 8-15. Any member under the age of 8 will be considered a family member until their 8th birthday.)
Cadet I- Ages 8-9
Cadet II- Ages 10-11
Cadet III- Ages 12-13
Cadet IV- Ages 14-15
Upon reaching age 16, cadets will be considered "graduated" and will be granted the rank of Ensign/Second Lieutenant.
Enlisted Ranks: (these are open to anyone who wishes. However, those applying for enlisted rank MUST be at least 16 years old.- this is a chapter enforced rule.)
Enlisted Rank (Naval/Marine)
Crewman Recruit/Private- 1 month
Crewman Apprentice/Private First Class- 2 months
Crewman/Lance Corporal- 4 months
Petty Officer Third Class/Corporal- 7 months
Petty Officer Second Class/Sergeant- 11 months
Petty Officer First Class/Staff Sergeant- 16 months
Chief Petty Officer/Gunnery Sergeant- 22 months
Senior Chief Petty Officer/First Sergeant- 29 months
Master Chief Petty Officer/Sergeant Major- 37 months
(Master Chief Petty Officer of The Maquis/Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps are assigned by the Command Council)
