Below are the specific awards authorized by the Commandant and General Staff, specifically for MFI Marines. owever, members of other MFI 'Branches' are certainly welcome to apply to the Commandant for their members to be awarded a MFIMC award. All MFMC awards fall into one of three categories' Achievement, Service or Training. In -ALL- Matters of precedence, Achievement awards are worn ahead of Service ribbons, which are worn above/ahead of Trainging ribbons. Only the 'Order of the Maquis' is ever set alone. With that sole exception, ribbons are added in the order earned. Commandant's 'Sword of Merit' Citation This award is given to recognize marines who have rendered exceptional service to the Corps by demonstrating consistently outstanding performance over time. To be eligible for this award, a marine must have served in an official capacity for a period of at least six months. Extremely Silly Award a.k.a. 'The Pink Pookie' Issuing Authority MFMC General Staff at nomination of any MFI member Frequency: as needed This award is given to -any- MFI member who, in public, is caught red-handed acting in a highly entertaining and embaressing (to them and their dignity) manner. No fewer than three MFI witnesses must corroborate the severity of the embaressment. Cases where 'good taste' was trampled into the dust, or intentionally offensive behaviour were employed are not eligible. MCM MAM Service BATTALION SERVICE COMMENDATION Issuing Authority: Battalion OIC, upon approval of General Staff Frequency: As needed (one award per marine per year maximum) This award is given to recognize marines who have rendered exceptional service to a particular battalion by demonstrating consistently outstanding performance over time. To be eligible for this award, a marine must have served in an official capacity for a period of at least six months.
BRIGADE SERVICE COMMENDATION Issuing Authority: Brigade OIC, upon approval of General Staff Frequency: As needed (one award per marine per year maximum) This award is given to recognize marines who have rendered exceptional service to a particular brigade by demonstrating consistently outstanding performance over time. To be eligible for this award, a marine must have served in an official capacity for a period of at least six months.
REGIMENTAL SERVICE COMMENDATION Issuing Authority: Regimental OIC, upon approval of General Staff Frequency: As needed (one award per marine per year maximum) This award is given to recognize marines who have rendered exceptional service to a particular regiment by demonstrating consistently outstanding performance over time. To be eligible for this award, a marine must have served in an official capacity for a period of at least six months.
