"When we assumed the role of soldier, we did not lay aside that of citizen."
Geo. Washington, 1783

"I think the discipline I got in the Marine Corps made me discipline myself when I was training for fights. A lot of guys want to do things, but they don't want to pay the price for it. I was able to, and the Marine Corps had a lot to do with it.
Carmen Basiho, former World Welterweight and Middleweight boxing champion

The MARINES have landed and have the situation well in hand
-Commodore Richard Harding Davis, USN 1812

Now I recall the Recon Marines ragged, filthy cammie shirted young men in green paint who move silent like the fog with deadly purpose in their eyes. Swift, Silent, Deadly. I smile.
GYSGT Correll, USMC, Retired Vietnam, 1969

Marine Specific Awards

All of the MFI awards are available to members of the MFMC. You may view them at MFI Hall of Honor

Below are the specific awards authorized by the Commandant and General Staff, specifically for MFI Marines. owever, members of other MFI 'Branches' are certainly welcome to apply to the Commandant for their members to be awarded a MFIMC award. All MFMC awards fall into one of three categories' Achievement, Service or Training. In -ALL- Matters of precedence, Achievement awards are worn ahead of Service ribbons, which are worn above/ahead of Trainging ribbons. Only the 'Order of the Maquis' is ever set alone. With that sole exception, ribbons are added in the order earned.

MFI has always 'made its own' ribbons, so as to assure supply, keep costs down, provide MFI members with a unique award, and comply with the Civil Air Patrol's request that we not use their ribbons.

1-21-2006 By order of Commandant, Commanding MFI Marine Corps MFMC In the last week, during the editing of these pages and this page in particular, a comment made by an individual who had contributed to the raw code was inadvertantly posted. This comment expressed a view of SOC operatives which is counter to the MFMC membership and General Staff's and it in no way shape or form was endorsed by the Commmandant, or the MFMC as a whole. The comment in question represented only the views and opinions of an individual who has departed MFI quite some time ago, and was present only in a section of proposed pages for the HTML site, precedig this wikki site. In response to official request from MFI SOC Command, the MFMC Commandant hereby apologizes for the comments of that individual, and their slipping through the editing net.
