Drupal is open source software freely availabal on the internet.
So if we relate this to our wiki, our wiki is the core base and then the database with members is an add-on to that.. People all over the world create modules for drupal, customise it... In fact, its used by a number of large companies.
Off the top of my head I know of the following that use it:
MTV There's a teen social network on drupal Sony Music is based on drupal Georgia Straight - Canadian Magazine..
