Just after Spock mentions Kahn is inexperienced and thinks in two dimensions. Kirk orders "Z minus 10000 meters, stand by photon torpedoes."

Do you have information on the Z-Axis?

What you're referring to is Thruster Maneuvering, which will also be part of this page. As I acquire more information, it will be added so I can create the Maneuvering/Nebula Warfare course I was telling you about.

Without checking my Manuals and just off the top of my head...
I may have the X and Y axes reversed, but I believe the X axis is moving Longitudinally (straight forward & backward) using Fore & Aft Thrusters. I think the Y axis is moving Horizontally (sideways) using Port or Starboard Thrusters. Plotting X plus Y together comprise "Bearing". The Z axis would be Vertically (straight up & down) using Dorsal & Ventral Thrusters. Plotting Z together with either X or Y (possibly both) might comprise "Mark". Like I said... I need to cdig out my manuals.

I just found these pics for interstellar course plotting today and I'm looking for more pics and information in order to complete it. I still need to dig out my TNG Manual & Encyclopedia, which has most of what I need.
