Description:
Despite the difference in their ages, Llaiir could almost pass for her brother Kellian's twin. She wears her dark brown very long and usually tied back when on duty, loose when off duty. Although she detest uniforms she does conform to the extent of wearing the black uniform of the Special Security Division.
History:
Llaiir was born on Stardate 30753, in the Daal'Gareth province on Ch'Rihan, the Romulan homeworld. Her mother, Arrenhe, served as an aide to the Imperial Praetor, and her father, Giellun, was an operative in the Tal Shiar. Llaiir followed the family tradition of entering the Romulan Military Academy, and subsequently followed her brothers path into the service of the Tal-Shiar despite reservations from her brother as to her suitability for this service. She soon found her true love in the medical service, left the Tal Shiar to study medicine. Despite their differences she has always fully supported her brother. When Kellian was exiled from the Empire, Llaiir joined his band of dissidents in exile.
Llaiir went with Kellian and his renegade force from world to world, spreading out until only a few remained. Although she did venture out on her own from time to time when relations with Kellian became somewhat strained. Her general disregard for any rules or regulations that don't appeal to her made it necessary for her to be almost constantly on the move. She finally rejoined her brother and the remaining members of his band on a long abandoned Cardassian mining station, and after performing the necessary repairs to make it operational, converted it into a secret intelligence gathering hub known as Thierrull.
When Kellian chose to join the newly formed Maquis, Llaiir had the choice of joining with him or once again striking out on her own. While she had great respect for the Maquis she wasn't sure about joining with a force that would require a certain level of discipline from her. Or as Kellian put it, you can stay with us under my command and obeying my rules or I can turn you over to any one of a number of groups who have a price on your head. Llaiir could only assume that Kellian had acquired the extensive list through the skills he learned in the Tal Shiar, skills that she admires though sometimes regrets his use of them. The crew maintained contact with the Maquis, and later joined its ranks on SD 58649.
Llaiir later joined the Special Security Division of the Maquis, lending her skills in medicine. She served as the Chief Medical Officer for the MSS Thierrull until it's untimely destruction, and then Commanding Officer of the LP Tortuga (she felt it was only because Kellian wanted her out of his hair) and as Command Counselor/Advisor for the Special Security Division. When Kellian transferred his flag to the newly recaptured MRV Areinnye, she took on her current position of Commanding Officer of the MFS John W. Comish.
Her dream is to find the extensive file that Kellian has on her and destroy it freeing herself of his hold over her. Through her contact with humans, Llaiir learned of the pirates that once sailed on the seas of the planet Earth. She would like obtain her own ship, paint it with the Jolly Roger and take piracy to the vast reaches of space.

Kat has been a fan of Star Trek since she saw the first episode with her father, who was also a fan until his death in 2000. She learned a valuable lesson watching that first show - never to get attached to characters in red shirt She remained a fan while it was on the air and joined in the letter writing campaign to try to keep in on the air when the show faced cancellation (this was before the days of computers). Being an avid reader she collected a number of Star Trek manuals and fiction books. Kat went to her first Star Trek convention in Houston Texas in 1985, but stayed away from fandom for several more years. Never a big fan of the Star Trek cartoon series, she was not impressed with the first few episodes Star Trek: The Next Generation. To her they seemed to be just a rehash of stories from the original Trek. Her favorite of the Star Trek series was Deep Space Nine. She met Dave through a computer bulletin board in 1995. After several months of messages going back and forth and his efforts to recruit her on to his ship they finally met at a picnic and shortly after that joined his ship. She has been a member of his crew since that time. Although still an avid reader, she doesn't read as much Star Trek novels as she once did.
Kat has been a member of Federation, Romulan, Klingon and now Maquis clubs mostly at the urgings of Dave. She detests the politics that she has seen come through and destroy some groups. Of all the clubs so far, she's had the most fun with the Maquis and the Academy courses offered. Time has been limited for her for the past two years while she obtained her second degree. Now that she is out of school she hopes to be able to give more time to fandom.
