The Medical Evacuation Squadron is responsible for getting wounded marines out of hot spots and back to medical facilities were they can be patched up, or return to the Griffon. The MES uses 10 medical Runabouts to do its job. Usually two Runabouts are assigned to a company and two are held in reserve. The MES is under command of the Battalion Chief Medical Officer.
