The MEKK Branch is the first branch of the Maquis Marines designed to allow members of the Corps to actually "wargame" with miniatures from the Battletech line of miniatures. To recognize this fact, a MEKK Combat Ribbon has been created. It is hoped it will be approved for Marines who actively participate in this Branch of the Maquis Forces Marine Corps (MFMC).

The MEKK Branch is a combat arm of the MFMC and reports to the Deputy Commandant. The current MEKK Branch Commanding Officer is Colonel Cary Griffin. MEKKs are 10 to 12 meter tall walking battle platforms. MEKKs come in 4 weight classes: Light 20-35 tons, Medium 40-55 tons, Heavy 60-75 tons and Assault 80-100 tons.

MEKKs are generally armed with a myriad of Offensive and Defensive weapons. They are also equipped with the latest in sensor technology and armor protection.

MEKK BRANCH ORGANIZATION

Currently the Maquis Marines MEKK Organizational Structure is organized for operational harmony with other Branches of the MFMC and Maquis Navy. The current number of MEKK combat units gives the Maquis Forces flexibility in meeting both Strategic and Tactical Operational requirements. The capabilities of the MEKKs themselves allow them to conduct reconnaissance, operate behind enemy lines, electronic countermeasures, anti-infantry, anti-aerospace, tank destroyer, anti-mech and so on. On an Operational standpoint the MEKK Branch currently fields 3 Regiments of 108 MEKKs each. Each Marine Division has an attached MEKK Regiment at its disposal. A MEKK Regiment has 3 Battallions of 36 MEKKs; each Battallion has 3 Companies of 12 Mekks; each Company has 3 Lances of 4 MEKKs. A Lance is the Basic unit in the MEKK Branch, it has 4 MEKKs. MEKK Companies are assigned to Battalions on an as-needed bases, MEKKs rarely operate in units smaller than Company size, unless a specialized mission is assigned to a MEKK Lance; ie. Reconassaisance, Special Ops, rescue, etc.

ARMOR SUB-BRANCH

Recently it was decided to add an Traditional Armored Component to the MEKK Branch. Colonel Charles Shananaquet, II, will be responsible for its development and also act as DCO for the MEKK Branch. The DCO MEKK Branch will also confer with the Deputy Commandant MFMC while the sub-branch is under development. Final approval for its development will rest with the Commandant MFMC.

All other information, for security purposes, is classified TOP SECRET.
